Roots to Rise Therapy offers free developmental screenings and Primitive Reflex Testing to determine if your child could benefit from a formal evaluation for occupational therapy services.
A screen is a quick overview of the child’s current skill level and helps determine if a formal evaluation would be appropriate.
An evaluation is a comprehensive assessment of the child’s current developmental stages and gives quantitative data to compare them to others their age. There are a variety of assessments that can be utilized during an evaluation based on the primary concerns. Evaluation sessions are typically scheduled for 1-1.5 hours.
Your therapist will analyze the results from the evaluation and create a plan of care individualized to the child’s needs. Goals will be available to families and prioritized to meet their needs.
Weekly treatment sessions are scheduled at intervals discussed after the evaluation process that best suits the needs of the child (typically 1-2 sessions per week).
After the child has met their goals, and their family has no other concerns within the scope of occupational therapy, the child will graduate from services. Typically this is done gradually to ensure skill mastery.
